The North American Transit Alliance summer newsletter highlighted a panel that National Express’ President & CEO and other Board members participated in at the National Organization of Counties (NACo) annual conference. Here’s a recap.

Cyril Aubin, Erick Van Wagenen and Julia Gessner present to the transportation committee at the National Organization of Counties annual conference.

National Express Shuttle and Transit is proud to be a member of NATA, an organization that advocates for the essential role private contractors play in public transit. Our President and CEO Erick Van Wagenen sits on the Board of Directors and our VP of Marketing Joanna Rustin serves on the Management Group & Marketing Committee.

Here’s an excerpt from NATA’s recent newsletter.

It’s been a busy and exciting summer at NATA as our members have been active in promoting public transportation. On the advocacy front, our members have been on the forefront of showing our support for full funding of the bipartisan infrastructure bill. As part of this effort, NATA sent letters on behalf of our members to the House Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies (THUD) Appropriations Subcommittee to voice this request. The decisions we make about transit today will have a lasting impact on our ability to ensure more equitable and sustainable systems for our future communities. For more details, see [the post].

On the speaking circuit, three of our members had the opportunity to present on behalf of NATA at the National Organization of Counties (NACo) annual conference in Travis County, TX.
